    Twilight Series Race 4/5

Another great afternoon on the water yesterday – with 27 boats on the start line, and over 50 paddlers enjoying the river.

Results for Thursday’s race can be seen here: https://www.webscorer.com/race?raceid=414718

Results for previous races, along with the Series pointscore (you score points for each race you do in the Series) can be seen on the Far South Coast Paddlers WebScorer Homepage, here: https://www.webscorer.com/farsouthcoastpaddlers

With four races now completed, the Pointscore continues to develop, with plenty of opportunities remaining for paddlers to get their names to the top of the list.

In the 3km Distance, Lewis has opened up a healthy lead over Nature Coast, Frank, Nathan, Spencer, Leo & Ky with only 5 points seperating them all.

In the 6km Distance, Winter Series winner Henry has surged to a 1 point lead over Tori Hennig, with Paul Hill now in third, and Xavier (the OC6) closely behind in fouth.

In the 9km Distance the lead is tied between John Carpenter and Darren Phillips, with Allison Booth just a couple of points in arrears.

However, if your name is not one of those at the top of the list, dont be too concerned. There will be ten (10) races in this Twilight Series (we’ll continue after xmas up to the end of daylight savings) so there are plenty more races to come and plenty of points to be earned. Remember also, that only your best seven (7) results will be counted. So if you’ve had a bad race, you can drop that one and use a better result to boost your overall point score.

Looking forward to seeing everyone back on the water for Race #5 of the Twilight Series on Thursday 11th December.

Twilight Series Time Trial 3/5 2025

What a great afternoon on the water on Thursday……congrats to you all for braving the wind, the choppy water and the mess around the boat ramp, and for finishing in what were some pretty challenging conditions.

Another great turn-out, with over 40 paddlers on (and sometimes in) the water.

With three races now completed, the Pointscore is starting to look interesting, particularly in the 3km & 6km distances.

In the 3km Distance, Nature Coast (the Dragon Boat) has a slim 1 point lead over Lewis Durnan, closely followed by Nathan Weyman.

In the 6km Distance, Noah Eagles has a 2 point lead over Tori Hennig, with partner Michael Trushell a further 2 points back, and another 2 points back to Henry Durnan (Winter Series winner)

There are plenty more races to come and lots of opportunities for everyone to score points and get to the top of the pointscore.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the water for Race #4 of the Twilight Series on Thursday 27th November.

    Eurobodalla Outrigger Regatta – 1st November 2025

Smashing Results for Far South Coast Paddlers

Our friends at the Eurobodalla Outrigger Club hosted their first Regatta at Corrigans Beach on Saturday 1st November 2025. This inaugural event on the water at Batemans Bay brought paddlers from across the State with Canberra and South Coast clubs from Wollongong to Bega well represented for a brilliant day of racing, teamwork, and community connection.

Our own Far South Coast Paddlers were proudly represented both on and off the water. Bob Turner lead the important role of timekeeper. His precision stopwatch work and webscorer wrangling helped keep the event running smoothly and on schedule.

Early starters Lydia and Kylie raced the 8km single outrigger race with outstanding results placing 1st and 3rd in their category. They then backed it up to join local clubs later in the day for the six man outrigger canoe races. Lydia joined Conjola Stingrays Outrigger Canoe Club in the 15km long course and Kylie paddled for Mollymook Outrigger Canoe Club in the 8km short course.

It was wonderful to see the camaraderie among clubs and the shared passion for paddling that makes these events so special. The Eurobodalla club delivered a well-run, welcoming regatta that celebrated the best of what the Far South Coast has to offer right down to a massive seafood platter prize donated by Innes Boat Shed.

Congratulations to all paddlers, volunteers, and organisers on a great day โ€“ and special cheers to Bob, Lydia, and Kylie for sharing the love and flying the FSC Paddlers flag so proudly! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ†

Well done to everyone who had a crack at the 2nd of the Twilight Series races yesterday evening.

What a great turn-out, with nearly 50 paddlers on the water in craft of all types.

Great to see so many people enjoying themselves on the river.

The conditions must have been pretty good yesterday with some notable performances (PB’s) from a number of paddlers, but a special mention to Noah Eagles and Tori Hennig who improved on their previous times by 3 minutes and 2 minutes respectively.

The friendly rivalry between the Dragon Boat (Nature Coast) and the Outrigger (Xavier) continued again last night, with Nature Coast getting the honours on this occasion. The girls on the Outrigger will likely be training extra hard in the next two weeks to get back in front. Both teams are always looking for new members so if you know anyone who would like to paddle in the Outrigger or Dragon Boat please let us know.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the water for Race #3 of the Twilight Series on Thursday 13th November.
